Blindfolded Solving

Blindfolded solving combines memorization systems with execution accuracy under pressure.

About Blindfolded Solving

Blindfolded solving means memorizing the cube first and then solving it without looking. Solvers use letter schemes, memo techniques, and special algorithms.

Before learning Blindfolded solving (BLD), it is recommended to already be comfortable with normal cube solving. Knowing an advanced method like CFOP and having good finger tricks will make turning faster, understanding piece movement easier, and learning BLD concepts much simpler.

Three main blindfolded methods

Old Pochmann

Popular beginner blindfold method for memo and piece cycling.

Open method

M2/OP

Use M2 for edges and Old Pochmann for corners as a strong intermediate setup.
